Privacy Policy

H2O Water Reminder ("the app") is a hydration tracker built to work entirely on your device. This page explains what that means in practice.

The short version

There is no account, no sign-in, and no server. Everything you enter, your name, your daily goal, your drink log, your reminder times, is stored only on your phone. Nothing is uploaded, sold, or shared, because the app has nowhere to send it: it doesn't talk to the internet at all.

What's stored on your device

Profile details you choose to enter: name, gender, height, weight, used only to calculate your daily water goal.
Your drink history: what you've logged, and when.
Reminder settings: your wake and sleep times, and your chosen reminder sound.
A custom reminder sound, if you pick one from your phone. The app copies that file into its own storage. It is never uploaded anywhere.

Permissions the app asks for

Each one exists for a specific reminder feature, and nothing else:

Notifications, to show your reminders.
Alarms & reminders (exact alarms), so a reminder rings at the time you set, not sometime near it.
Vibration, so a reminder can be felt, not just seen.
Run in the background / start on restart, so a reminder can still ring-3 with the app closed, the phone locked, or just after it's been restarted.
Audio settings, to play the reminder tone at the right volume. The app does not use your microphone and never records audio.

The optional widget shows today's progress and lets you log a drink without opening the app. It reads the same on-device data described above, and nothing more.

Advertising and tracking

The app shows no ads and includes no advertising or analytics SDKs of any kind. Nothing about your usage is tracked, measured, or sent anywhere, by us or by any third party.

Deleting your data

Use Settings, then Erase all data inside the app at any time, or simply uninstall it. Either way, everything is removed. There's no account to close and no server copy to ask us to delete, because none exists.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone who uses it, regardless of age, since nothing entered in the app ever leaves the device it's installed on. The app contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, no chat or social features, and no way for one user to contact another. For this reason, it does not collect, store, or share personal data from children within the meaning of the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) or the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it.
